RPA Campus

Maple Grove Elementary started in a much smaller building in 1888 and was in that facility on the hill until the current building was completed in 1927.  For many years, the school was its own “School District” until such time as major changes were made to the Molalla River School District alignment.  In June of 2010, after 123 years of serving students and families, Maple Grove Elementary closed and the Molalla Pioneer ran a wonderful article about the school.  The founders of Renaissance Public Academy learned of the vacancy, applied for and took residency in July, and opened in September 2010 as a public, tuition-free charter – a school of choice based within Molalla River School District.  An annex building was added which provides an additional large and small classroom, and restrooms.  During the 2012-13 school year, RPA added a 2-classroom modular to the campus.

The Molalla Pioneer also published an article on October 24, 2012  recognizing RPA’s “State Report Card” Status of “Outstanding”

Volunteering

Eight of our high school Scholars stepped up to take the training and worked for a week as counselors at Westwind!  A wonderful experience and a wonderful way to role-model great choices!  (Brandon Berthrong, Logan Carlin, Hunter Enz, Augusta Grassl, Sierra Goodson, Gwen Plotner, Cole De Risio, and Savannah Enz)

Gathering up personal items and toiletries, our scholars learned they can make a positive difference in the lives of people that reaches beyond their local community … (“Thank You” letter from Molalla Warming Center)

At nearly 1800′ elevation, we were surprised to arrive at school to snow on April 14th, 2015 – with the sun out!  As is not so unusual, there was a dusting a little below Snowline Tree Farm  (and the Maple Grove-Sawtell Rd juncture), with the heavier part starting at just about the RPA fence line.

On January 30th, 2015, four of our young men were awarded the Cub Scout “Arrow of Light” merit badge: Aiden Severson, Naveen Prasad, Connor De Risio & Hunter De Risio. Congratulations!  (Submitted by parent 2/2015)

EBergmann-3-8-15-Dance-Convention

“We had a fantastic time in Portland at the JUMP Dance Convention.  KAPA dance studio in Molalla participated in the event.  The kids worked so hard and the faculty was incredible.  There were about 1600 dancers.  Less than 20 scholarships were awarded in “Musical Theater” – and Miss Emma Bergmann won a scholarship to L.A. Intensive this summer!  We are so proud of her and the rest of our KAPA Kids!”  (Submitted by parent 3/8/15)
